About Me

Background and Experience

Studies have demonstrated that the overwhelming factor in successful outcomes in psychotherapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. Clearly, therefore, it is of the utmost importance that you feel you can trust me and work with me. This is probably something that you will only truly glean once you have met with me face to face. However, below is some information to help you decide whether to take that first step:

I have a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy both from the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology at Regent's College. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-Processing (EMDR).

I am accredited by, and a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA).

Since 2005 I have worked as a psychotherapist at the Adamson Centre for Mental Health at St. Thomas' Hospital in London. I am also a Law Society accredited mediator for Alternative Dispute Resolution and undertake mediation work in North Surrey.

Before qualifying as a psychotherapist I worked as a consultant for the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs and in the business consulting division of Arthur Andersen. I speak fluent French and Russian and have lived in five countries. I was born in London and my education included stints at boarding schools in East Sussex, the south of France, Westminster and a Russian monastery in Paris. This cosmopolitan background, together with my uplifting philososophical approach to psychological therapy, has helped me create a unique, compassionate, sometimes challenging, model of psychotherapy.
